Many Shades of Green

In the world of HR, perception seems to be the only issue with substance. Intentions and processes are great, but at the end of the day all that matters is if the intended value was perceived.

Not one job fits one personality and not one personality can only enjoy one job. If everyone could do (and enjoy) every job there would be no argument to job placement at birth (chew on that for a moment). It isn’t to say that you can’t adapt to any situation to provide for your desired lifestyle. Or that finding the right job means there won’t be shitty days. It just means that maybe you could enjoy your day job MORE. Or maybe reading about other jobs makes you realize you are in the right job for YOU.

Regardless of your reason for stumbling upon this site, I hope it brings you inspiration or affirmation and at the end of the day contentment. This site will dig beyond the “essential job functions” and show you a glimpse into a real human’s up and downs in different career fields. It’s impossible to capture every facet that leads to satisfaction, but times they are a changing! This will provide a newer way of thinking when considering your career.

As a disclaimer I would like to point out that company culture plays a huge role in job satisfaction. This is the stepping stone to find the path, it’s your job to ensure that your company (or prospective company) aligns with your values and goals.
